Let’s face it, we all have busy lives. I have FOUR children, dishes to clean, clothes to wash, lunches to pack, errands to run, groceries to buy, meals to plan, kids to pick up, kids to drop off, dinner to make…..you get the idea.
I’ll be the first to admit that there are days where my to-do list is so overwhelming that our Netflix and video games stay on all day. It’s easy to loose track of time when I’m busy multitasking, crossing things off that never ending list.
After all, I’ve got kids to take care of.
I often find myself so busy taking care of my kids, that I miss out on opportunities to care for them. I can say from my 15 years of being a parent, the one thing kids want more than anything else, is….YOU. Your time. Your attention. I have seen first hand over and over again, the positive effect that just 15 minutes of your undivided attention can do for your child. The sad truth for parents these days, is that it is far too easy to let TV and Video Games step in as our “babysitter”. It’s not easy when you have grown-up responsibilities to stop, get down, and play at your child’s level.
My goal in starting this blog is to share some kid-tested, creative ideas, designed to encourage you, along with myself to “Unplug and Play”.
